How to Make Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso
Brew two shots of espresso into a small heat-proof container.
Add the brown sugar and ground cinnamon to the hot espresso immediately, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Transfer the sweetened espresso mixture into a cocktail shaker or a glass mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.
Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the mixture is very frothy and chilled.
Fill a tall serving glass with fresh ice cubes.
Pour the frothy espresso mixture over the fresh ice, including the foam.
Gently pour the cold oat milk over the espresso. Stir lightly if desired to create a marbled effect, and finish with a tiny dash of cinnamon on top.
Tips for Best Results
-
ยท
Use dark brown sugar instead of light for a deeper, more complex molasses flavor profile.
-
ยท
Ensure your oat milk is 'Extra Creamy' or 'Barista Edition' for the best texture and mouthfeel.
-
ยท
Shake the espresso while it is still warm; the heat helps create a much more stable and voluminous foam.
-
ยท
If you don't have an espresso machine, use 1/4 cup of very strong stovetop Moka pot coffee or AeroPress coffee.
