1 Ingredients

Qty Ingredient
4 pieces 680 g Lobster tails (6 oz each)
1/2 cup 115 g Unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves 9 g Garlic, minced
1 tbsp 4 g Fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tbsp 4 g Fresh chives, finely chopped
1 tsp 5 ml Lemon juice
1/4 tsp 0.5 g Smoked paprika
1/2 tsp 3 g Sea salt
1/4 tsp 0.5 g Black pepper

2 Method

1

Step 1. Preheat your oven to the broil setting (high). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

2

Step 2. Use kitchen shears to cut down the center of the top of the lobster shell, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the shell apart and lift the lobster meat upward, resting it on top of the shell.

3

Step 3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix until well combined.

4

Step 4. Generously brush the herb butter over the lobster meat, saving a small amount for serving.

5

Step 5. Place the lobster tails on the prepared baking sheet and broil for 10-12 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and white in the center.

6

Step 6. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with the remaining herb butter and fresh lemon wedges on the side.

💡 Chef's Tips

  • ·

Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) to avoid overcooking.

  • ·

To prevent the tails from curling, insert a wooden skewer lengthwise through the meat before cooking.

  • ·

Always use fresh herbs instead of dried for the best aromatic profile in the butter.

  • ·

Pat the lobster meat dry with a paper towel before brushing with butter to help the butter adhere better.

? FAQ

Can I use frozen lobster tails?
Yes, but ensure they are completely thawed in the refrigerator overnight before cooking for the best texture.
How do I know when the lobster is done?
The meat will change from translucent to a solid white/opaque color, and the shells will turn bright red.
Can I grill these instead of broiling?
Absolutely! Grill over medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes per side, starting with the meat side down.
What should I serve with lobster and herb butter?
It pairs beautifully with roasted asparagus, a light citrus salad, or garlic mashed potatoes.
